Mindy for adoption

Mindy is now 15months old and still very much a puppy.

Mindy is learning to use the dog door, and gets along well with the other dogs here. She is now spayed, up to date on shots, chipped and ready to find her forever home.

She gets along very well with all the dogs here in rescue and LOVES people. She would do best in a home without young children, because she is tiny. She is a light in our home, we will miss her very much when she finds her forever family. Her adoption fee is 200.00.

Bunny is a bundle of joy and love! She would love a home where she has someone around most of the time, and a lot of affection for her. She is 7 years old, though she acts like a much younger dog. She loves all of the dogs here in rescue, and might appreciate having another dog to love, but not a bossy one! She has never, ever shown any signs of aggression. This special girl will need to go to a very special home, and a very special guardian. In the summer, she enjoys being outside, and exploring, she uses a dog door, and is crate trained. She walks well on a leash; however, she does not need to go on long walks. She rides well in the car, and would love to spend her days with someone who loves her as much as she is loved here in rescue. Bunny has always lived in an adult only home. She would never harm a child, but being a little dog, a child could accidentally hurt her. We are posting a video that was taken for another dog, Lucy. Bunny is playing in the video. She not easy to film or photograph, and as the weather turns warmer, we will try to get her very own video, because, she is a star. Her adoption free is 100.00.

Bunny is not a typical Chihuahua, she is more laid back, and you can see, with her cute floppy ears, that she is one of a kind, in fact, we had to verify she was Chihuahua, and she is, a 100% one of a kind.

Teka is up for adoption

Teka will be getting a new bio from her foster Mom, we have met her before and she is playful, animated and a fun girl who is spayed, a new dental, microchipped, up to date on shots, and fully vetted, and such a sweetie.

She loves her foster Mom.

We think ( the vet says ) she is around 7, and Pom's stay with us a very long time. She has the energy of a yougster.

Her adoption fee is 150.

Buddy is- Adopted!

Buddy was pulled from a local shelter, nobody even looked for him. He is a very sweet dog, and wants to be just that, your Buddy. He loves to sit on the couch with people, and walks great on a leash, and is enthusiastic about his walks. He gets along well with the dogs here in rescue and has never had one accident in the house. Buddy has learned to use the dog door, loves exploring outside, and loves people. He does not have one Alpha (dominant) bone is his body, he does not enjoy a busy, flighty house, he loves calm and order. He is looking to be your Buddy in his new forever adult home. He is around six years old, and is a very sweet and loving dog, waiting for his best friend. He is Microchipped.

Buddy has gone to his perfect forever home, just what we had hoped for. A home with a mature guardian’s, who understand dogs who have seen abuse. He is now a Canadian resident, and very much cared for. This little guy will learn love, after his first years of abuse. Toby- transfered out

This is Toby with his foster Mom. He is a cuddler at heart, and playful too. We think he spent his first years in a Puppy Mill/Back Yard Breeder dog. Poor guy! Who would do that? He would be so happy being someone's companion and Dog baby, a snuggle bun that has no mean bone in his body. He is one special guy!

Toby is up to date on shots, neutered and microchipped with a brand new dental.

The vets guestimate he's around seven to eight, Chihuahau's live way beyond that, into mid to late teens. Toby is looking for a human companion to love him.

Prancer in a new home for Christmas

We picked up Prancer from a shelter on the 23rd. of December, and a preapproved home applied to adopt him that day. On the 24th of Decemeber he went home for Christmas. He went to live with Dover, who is also on this blog.

He is such a little love and so much fun, we hated to see him leave rescue.

He got along so well with our dogs, and likes cats, what more could you ask for?

Meet Lucy - she is now adopted

Lucy is spayed an up to date on shots, plus a microchip. She is good with other dogs, and cats, is crate trained and house trained and very active. Lucy’s new home must have a securely fenced yard. She is eager to please, and we are working on improving her diet and letting her gain a little weight. We don’t know her background as she was found running loose on the streets and nobody claimed her at the shelter. Thus, she came into rescue. She is a tail wagger extraordinaire, and loves being around people. She would do best in a home with either human or dog companions and

being a very active dog will need lots of exercise - prefer home with friendly dog(s) to play with or an owner who is a runner or interested in dog sports.

We are going to start training her to use a dog door. She comes in now, hasn’t figured out she can go out. Gosh, she is the cutest most animated little girl. She weighed in at 14.4 pounds last week.

We picked these two up from Spokanimal today, they are so sweet and so bonded. Fully vetted too. They are seven years young, very active, no signs of patella problems at all. New one Lexi Adopted

Lexi came into rescue on May 21st. She has been dumped at a local shelter and has some wobbly leg issues. She is pure love and enthusiasm and is not yet up for adoption. She is one year old, or less, and mostly Rat Terrier. She weighs, maybe eight pounds.

She is in foster care for now until we can come up with a good solution for her. Her foster home asked us to find someone else to care for her, how about you? Our rescue has to many stairs for Lexi to navigate.

Lexi was turned over to Partners for Pets because our terrain here was a challange. They found her a home! Thank you Partners for Pets. Our rescue helped with the vetting expenses, and they paid for an x-ray that showed no abnormalities. Then she went missing from her guardian, whom didn't have a tag on her, not was there a home check done for Lexi. After being found 3 days later and returned to her guardian, the guardian decided not to keep her. ( No surprise here after asking P4P not to adopt to such a young person without means or stablity.) Now P4P has given permission for Lexi to be turned over to a vet tech who had a hand in Lexi being found. Let's hope this IS her forever home! Learned a LOT through this ordeal, our rescue has a great adoption contract and sreening process.

We just heard from Lexi's new Guardian and got a great picture of her with one of her four legged friends in her new home.

And she gets to go to work with her Guardian, what a lovely thing for her!

Molly came to us from a local shelter where she had been "evicted" by the county authorities. She was flea bitten and scared to death and flea bitten.

After a month of hard work, wearing an ecollar, and getting good food and lots of love.

New Arrival Dover ADOPTED!!

Dover just came in today, 2/11/2011. Nice guy, dog friendly, and full of enthusiasm. Dover is 5 1/2 years old and six and a half pounds of love. He is altered, up to date on shots and housebroken. Dover came back because he chased cats, and is waiting for a loving home. He says " I'm really fun and need someone to love me, will you rescue me?"

Babe got a great home before Valentine's Day, 2011. She had been overfed, her owner is still working on that with her, and she had been over handled by children, so could not be adopted out of the shelter. She was a joy to have here.

Reasons NOT to rehome a dog for free

This is what happens to some of the "free to a good home dogs" on Craigslist. Pass on to ANYONE you see or know of who is advertising their animals as "FREE" on Craigslist or in the newspaper.... It's bad enough that millions of people selfishly choose to get rid of their animals....the least they should do is try to keep them safe by asking for at least $25 for their animal. This will ensure that dog fighters will not get them for bait dogs & cats, as well as "labs" that do research on animals, as the going rate per dog or cat is $25.....
